Horns have been the backbone of the 20 year deep genre-bending West Coast musical collective known as Jazz Mafia. “New Directions In Brass” features the brass of Jazz Mafia taking the 100 year old brassband ensemble into the future, with innovative new rhythms that reflect current music, while keeping a solid foundation in the tradition of New Orleans Jazz and street party music.

Jazz Mafia’s horns have collaborated with Lyrics Born, Thomas Dolby, Peter Rowan, Nicki Bluhm and have been featured at SFJAZZ, The Guild Theater, Outside Lands, Healdsburg and San Jose Jazz Festivals.

Jazz Mafia has become one of the most listened to emerging Alt/Jazz groups on Spotify with over 700K streams so far in 2022, sparked from their weekly releases, known as 52/22.
