Mike Zilber

Renowned saxophonist/composer Michael Zilber, a long-time leader in Bay Area Jazz, recently relocated to Los Angeles, so this is a rare opportunity to hear him in San Francisco. He brings in a stellar group of good friends and Bay Area royalty.  Zilber, whose latest CD (his 14th as a leader) on Sunnyside records/New York with drumming great Mike Clark, Standard Deviations is getting heavy airplay around the country, is hailed by All About Jazz as “a true modern master of the Tenor Sax”, and NEA jazz legend David Liebman calls him “one of the best players and composers around anywhere.  Period!”   He is joined by SF greats Erik Jekabson on Trumpet, Peter Horvath on Piano, Dan Feiszli on Bass, and Jason Lewis on Drums.
