Jazz Mafia teams up with the Hogan Brothers for a tribute to Herbie Hancock’s electric 1970s era, performing music from Head Hunters and Thrust along with other selections from that period.
Head Hunters (1973) and Thrust (1974) were recorded in the Bay Area and helped redefine jazz fusion with their deep grooves, layered rhythms, and forward-looking sound.
Featuring Adam Theis, Daniel Casares, and Colin, Julian, and Steve Hogan, the group revisits this influential chapter in modern jazz history.
