Trio Caribe/The Caribbean Trio
Drawing from the rich musical traditions of the Caribbean this trio of Bay Area standouts offers exciting interpretations of Latin and jazz standards and a few hidden gems of the Caribbean songbook. Tight Afro-Caribbean grooves, soulful vocals and daring improvisation propel their music, yet they’re also comfortable in the intimate space of a romantic bolero. With Julio de La Cruz on piano, Sam Bevan playing the acoustic bass, and Héctor Lugo on percussion and vocals.
