Sherri Roberts Sings the Songs of Spring!

Celebrate the first week of Spring with vocalist Sherri Roberts! After performing her “Chet Baker Songbook” concert to an enthusiastic full house last October, Sherri returns to Keys Bistro with a jazzy homage to everyone’s favorite season. For over two decades, Ms. Roberts has performed a tribute to spring during that most verdant time of year, featuring an intriguing set list of tunes that swings from the jazz compositions of Clifford Brown, Tadd Dameron, and Freddie Hubbard to the standard and not-so standard fare of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Hoagy Carmichael and Blossom Dearie favorite- Bob Haymes.

Sherri now will bring this musical bouquet to Keys, promising an evening of songs that resonate with the power of springtime: its abundance of beauty, seductiveness, and even cruelty…And like the season itself, Sherri is indeed “a breath of fresh air…pure and unaffected,” (Kirk Silsbee, Los Angeles City Beat.)

Accompanying Sherri for this special evening will be several of her distinguished bandmates from that recording, pianist David Udolf and drummer Akira Tana. Rounding out the trio will be a favorite at Keys Jazz Bistro – Ron Belcher on bass.
